Day25 in Wuhan

Yeah! Excursion again. This time, we're going to a Fibre Optic company to see how fibre Optic cable is being made.
So we left school at 9.00am sharp. The ride there was short just approx. 30mins and we reached Yangtze Optical Fibre And Cable Company LTD.(YOFC) This company that we visited is one of the largest one in China at present and it covers an area od about 150,000meter square and a yearly turnover of close to 4.5billion Yuan with a total manpower of 1000. YOFC was established in May 1988 and it is a co-operation with Draka Comteq which is a company from the Netherlands, operated by China Telecommunications Corporation. YOFC is a high tech company that focus on the area of manufacturing, R&D of optical fibre and cable products and making fibre drawing and cabling technique for mass production.

It's also claimed that they have mastered the skills of making Optical Fibre.

The good of fibre optical cable is that it allows information to be transmitted faster with more efficiency. Process wise is quite complicated so shall let the pictures explain and show you some of the products that they produce.

Afterwhich, We dropped off at Wuhan university main wing to catch the cherry Blossom that we missed that very time when we wanted to go in the morning but it rained. Well admission fee was cheaper than expected as it was already over the date for the blossom. So admission is 8.80 Yuan. Well as everyone knows, cherry blossom aka sakura is a very beautiful plant and will just fall off when wind blows and has a short span of life. Well truthfully speaking, the cherry blossom at the university main Wing was not at all astonishing or amazing as most of it has already gone bore. So leaving behind a small garden of cherry blossom's blossom with peddles filling the ground. There is supposed to be a lane full of cherry blossom called the "樱花大道" but most has already whitered.Well. Not bad though but was a disappointing trip. Some pictures of the blossom.

And ya. Velverie had a fall when she tried to pose for a picture with the cherry blossom. Ouchies!
=) but this shows her love for the flowers. Same as many others of the locals that did the same thing. I realised that they will go all out just to snap beautiful pictures of themself with the blossom. Some even shaked the tree to let the blossom fall just to snap pictures. But this is an act of inconsideration. Flowers has life too. Let nature do it's job.Thats the beauty of nature.
After the Cherry Blossom visitation, we left for Shopping Mall located at 徐东路 as some wanted to Sing K and the others wanted to play Pool. So yeap spend the rest of the day at Shopping Mall. I'm serious, their shopping mall is called Shopping Mall. No joke. Ate Economic mixed rice at the mall. BTW, all economic rice sold in China goes by Weight. So it doesnt matter what dish you choose, it's the weight that counts. Like 1liang cost appox. 0.45 to 0.95cents depending where you eat it. Well food was not bad. Comes with free rice.

Cab back to dorm. RMB11.00. Raining with wind. COLD!
