Day15 in Wuhan

Met at 10am in the morning for a great purpose today. We are going on a tour to Wuhan’s biggest steel making factory, WISCO founded in 1955. The bus ride there was a short one, approx 15-25mins. So the question is what actually is so great about WISCO. It’s so great because it is the biggest and first giant steel and iron complex founded in People’s Republic of China. WISCO is located at the south bank of the Changjiang River and covers an area of 21.17 square km.
So the tour at the plant lasted for about half an hour and we witness the whole process of steel making from a steel plate to steel coils.
The process starts by dipping huge steel plate into some kind of molten liquid and after which, it is transferred to a roller and heated up till red hot from the furnace. Then it is flatten to lengthen the length of the steel plate. The steel plate is cooled then cut at its edges to rid the curved part and then cooled down in several condensers, at that time, of length and diameter is of certain thinness. Then it is coiled up to a coil and ready to be transported out after packaging.
The main difference of steel making company in Singapore and Wuhan, China is 1st, the land area space. China has a bountiful amount of land space which is greatly scarce in Singapore. So no matter how big a steel making company is in Singapore, it will not have the size of factory and machinery that WISCO had. With strict laws to conform to in Singapore, steel making has been restricted in many way or another. And to import steel from other country would be more of the selected choice instead of making our own steel which needs large amount of resources and space.
There were no explanations given to us at all during our half hour tour in the factory as even if there is, we won’t hear it because of the noise made by the machineries.
So we went back to WUST. Reached school at 11pm++ so Mr. Chong’s lecture was at 1.00pm. So we went for lunch outside the school campus as we got kinda sick and tired of the food in the school canteen and back alley. We walked sort of aimlessly roaming around the streets for lunch and decided on MacDonal but sadly it suffers a blackout so its closed. So continued our seek for food. Until Yong Qi spotted a fast food chain. It’s by China’s local brand.
Food there was way cheaper than MacDonald and tasted reasonably nice. No complains about it at all.
Went back to lecture after lunch and continue our lecture on Water treatment. After lecture, Mr. Chong showed us a movie which titled “ Never back Down” and it seriously is a nice show and some valuable lesson can be taken home from it. One of it is that everyone has to stand up for what they seek for and not because of what others wanted you to stand up for. As the movie’s title says so Never back down.
After lecture and show, we went to badminton again with the local students to about 7.00pm and then had lunch right after at the back alley. Ordered some fried rice from another stall. It wasnt at all nice, but still finished it as i was super hungry =). Went to eat herbal jelly again.

After dinner, had the urge to run and yes velverie wanted to run too so we went for a run with Jin Quan too. Had 3rounds of run around the school campus and after completing, met Jasper and Alan outside the corridor and they asked if we wanted to join them. So me and vel agreed and ran another 2rounds. So a total of 5rounds around the school campus. SHIOK ah! Running in a temp of about 16-20 degree sure was a new experience for me. But we did sweat it out. The weather dry us very quickly and the air is also hard to breathe in as its thick. Overall experience was fantastic.
Washed up and went prepare to sleep =)

Pictures!
