Day 5 in Wuhan
Today's meeting time is 7.15am. Yes what actually are we doing today? We're going on a local tour to 3 places in Wuhan which is "Dong hu" translated to english is East lake. East lake is a place where one of the minister of the Chu dynasty, Qu Yuan which jump off the bridge in Milou river in seek of death after being banished to Exil by the emperor of Chu. One of this most well known poem is called the " Chu Ci " We visited the memorial site for this great man.
After the Eastern lake tour, We went on to a museum to understand the history of Hubei. The museum is known for one of its artefacts which is one of the largest one that is dug out during excavation of the Chu site. Which is the "chime bells"
The 2nd greatest artefact that we saw was the sword of "Gou jian"
The 3rd was "The blue-and-white glazed jar"
And finally was the "Two skull fossils"
These 4 artefacts was the 4 treasure of the museum of Hubei.
After the museum tour, we went to a food street to have our lunch. The food there was not say very fantastic but its perfectly alright, some of which is delicious. The more famous food there were dou pi, hot and dry noodle and tang bao. Which is the local's specialities in Wuhan, Hubei.
After lunch, we went to the famous "Yellow crane Tower" which is rebuilt for 4 times over the different dynasty of china due to war and natural disaster. The current one is not the original one but it is build according to books, illustrations left behind about the tower itself. The tower itself is 5level high and the level is counted as half level per level. Which is lv1 lv1.5 lv2 lv2.5 and so on till lv5. The story of the tower was a interesting one and if you are interested, i would personally recommend one to read up on it as its really a good one.
After that, we headed back to our dorm and have our own time own target dinner. We had dinner at the back alley of our school campus and found a " Gui lian gao "shop. We all found it authentic as it has the bitter flavour in it. Its nice and its said that it will beautifies one complexion and tune up one's health. It only cost like RMB$5 for a bowl. Reasonable priced.!
Today’s trip was a very fruitful one as I learnt a lot about the history of china, the stories and the dynasty of it. The equipments and technology that they already has that will truly leave you awe-inspired and wondering how they actually come about doing that. Technologies and equipment used during that time was truly a work of human’s intelligent and bounder less thinking and creativity.
